Issue date: 3/12/10 Section: The Vera Project
One of the up and coming bands out of Canada set to play at The Vera Project is Brasstronaut, hot off the release of their debut album "Mt. Chimaera". According the lead singer and keyboardist Edo Van Breemen, the band is looking forward to Seattle and playing The Vera Project, "We put on an awesome live show, the instruments work together in a bigger way, achieving blasting walls of sound. We want to be noisy!"
This group plays an eclectic array of instruments, Bryan Davies on trumpet, flugelhorn and glockenspiel, John Walsh on bass and guitar, Brennan Saul on percussion, Tariz Hussain on lap steel and electric guitar and Sam Davidson on Clarinet and EWI (a wind synthesizer).
Brasstronaut will be busy touring the U.S. all year including a little detour to Austin, Texas to play at SXSW 2010, March 17-21 and then they head back up to Seattle where they are set to perform Saturday April 3 at The Vera Project. Check them out in advance at www.clipperonline.info and listen to their first title, "Slow Knots" off their "Mt. Chimaera" album.
