Fans and the city grew increasingly disheartened during Bennett's reign of terror, one that saw fans alienated in our own backyard, not to mention all the lies and false promises.
Sonicsgate does an excellent job of including all the villains that led to the end of basketball in Seattle. From Schultz to Bennett, NBA Commissioner David Stern to former Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, the Washington State Legislature, to the Citizens For More Important Things, they all took us for a ride and then told us to get out on the side of the road.

"The Sonics are Seattle," a Lakers fan told me before the Lakers T-Wolves game at Staples Center last month. I could only thank him, as his words reminded me how fans league-wide feel our loss.
Percy Allen of The Seattle Times summed it up best; "It gives you heroes and villains, minus the white or black hats."
