In a large empty room with classical music playing low in the background, she sits at her easel and contemplates her colors. Then, with swift decision she takes to the canvas, adding color and detail to an already beautiful painting. Pamela Kearsley is a mother of four boys, whose ages range from eight to twenty-six, but she finds time to take classes here at Everett Community College.
Kearsley has been attending EvCC since 2006 and in only a few more semesters, she will have her degree in hand. She started with Drawing 100 and is now in Painting 201 with Sandra Lepper. "Painting with Sandra is amazing... and Tom Lee is an awesome teacher plus the class is fun," says Kearsley.
Though she is not sure of what her favorite part of painting is, she knows that she's going to enjoy it for a long time after she finishes school.
"It brings my art out, and I love to create things," says Kearsley, who is currently working on three different projects.
She's new to oils but her favorite mediums to use are pastels and colored pencils. She likes painting, flowers, butterflies and landscapes. She definitely has talent with the flowers!
