The Clipper

EvCC’s Ocean Research College Academy (ORCA) had 35 students graduate on June 6 at the Everett Events Center. Within the 35 ORCA students who graduated, nine graduated with honors.

ORCA is sponsored by EvCC and is funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The program uses an approach that forces students to learn by creating projects. High school students can earn up to two free years of college while being a full-time ORCA student.

The ORCA program uses the local marine environment to critically analyze all disciplines. 50 students are accepted each year.
